Even if the name is misleading, Bitcore (BTX) is not the actual Bitcoin project, rather the vision and most of the source code was taken to create a new independent block chain before the hype phase in 2017. Contrary to the SHA256 algorithm, which is centrally mined by ASIC (application specific integrated circuit), the focus of the PoW (proof of work) is on the use of GPU from mining rigs. Furthermore, Bloom and SegWit have been fully implemented as protocol in this block chain. Concerning the transactions the time has been reduced to 2 1/2 minutes in order to be able to process transactions faster. As with Bitcoin, this block chain is to be understood solely as a payment ecosystem.
Even if the efforts to improve the block chain were there, the few adjustments made to the top dog Bitcoin have not been able to establish itself as a bestseller. Thus, the project is languishing in the CoinMarketCap with only 4 million $ in the back rows.
