Aeternity (AE) is a blockchain platform that focuses on high bandwidth transactions, purely functional smart contracts, and decentralized oracles. It was founded in 2017 and seeks to eliminate inefficiencies in the crypto market by improving the scalability of smart contracts and dApps, sharding and off-chain execution of contracts.
The Turing Complete Smart contracts in the Aeternity chain enable transactions to be carried out without third parties or intermediaries. Aeternity also has government channels to enable intelligent, off-chain contract execution that only touches the blockchain when a disagreement arises in the contract and acts as a self-arbitrating crypto court. The Aeternity blockchain is also based on state-of-the-art cryptographic data structures that lead to robust efficiency and strong security.
